So. Like. Um.
^The way all blog posts start.
Kay. Here's the deal you pretty ponied cabages. You listen, I educate you on what I call "good music." You are not required to agree, nor do I expect you to really. This is more of an education on Stevie-Likes-This-Music-So-If-You-Need-I-Don't-I-Know-A-Birthday-Idea-Someday-Or-Something-This-Will-Help-You-Sorta.
Unfortunately, this one-post-course won't be able to cover all I'd really like it to, so after you've read my syllabus, we'll begin asap.
TO BEGIN:
I'd like you to give me a little "and there aint no holla back gurl." from wherever you are.
Excellent.
The first object of my lecture will be that of Beautiful Eulogy. To that one student that is going to fail my class, here is the definition of eulogy.
Eulogy: A speech or piece of writing that praises someone or something highly, typically someone who has just died.
The truth of the matter is that this is actually a band. Now that I think about it, are multiple rappers working together a band? o_O Never really thought that through. In any case, students, I've classified this particular type of music that Beautiful Eulogy has engineered as "Indie Rap." I personally think of them as somewhere between Flobots and Sufjan Stevens. Maybe I'm way off, I guess we'll find out together using some binary. They are probably the classiest thing I've heard since PP&J. I suggest you listen to the link below carefully, taking in the beautiful flow of the lyricists as well as their flow. They may have passed up Shai Linne on my rappers list, which is serious buis. Listen to the lyrics please.
Beautiful Eulogy by Beautiful Eulogy
If you tasted this and stuck your tongue out in distaste, you're best to ignore the rest of the post as well.
BUT, if this has only whetted your taste for Beautiful Eulogy, check out these as well.
Motive 1,2 by Beautiful Eulogy
An Open Letter To Whoever's Listening by Beautiful Eulogy
....There's so much more... but this class period is over, so for homework, listen to some Switchfoot.
Until next time, class.
Bonsoir.
