Blog Challenge February, 2015

You walk up the alleyway to the door. You don't remember what you're doing here.

You look down and find yourself in a blue outfit. On your shirt is a pin.

The pin reads:

Blog Challenge
Participant #

You look up, and see the metal handle, covered in rust. Reaching for it, you pull and the door screeches open. Behind the door you see a man with dark glasses in a black suit standing in a dimly lit hallway. You try to ask questions, but your hear no words leave your mouth. The man hands you a paper and gestures down the hallway. You again try to ask a question, but with no success. You turn your attention to the paper. It reads:

Welcome to the Blog Challenge of February, 2015. This is most likely your first experience with the Blog Challenge. This is okay. All things begin with a first attempt. It's important that you know that what you gain from this experiment is entirely up to you. You will not remember this, but you volunteered to participate in this experiment. You are not being forced to do this against your will, remember that. The mission as prescribed, is to write a post on a blog every single day for an entire month.

You look up to ask the man a question but, to your astonishment, he is gone. You did not hear him leave. You glance around, then turn your attention back to the paper.

What you choose to put on this blog is your own decision. The purpose of this experiment is to test if the current generation is capable of creating content, or merely capable of consuming it. This having been said, the simple reposting of things you find on the internet is highly discouraged. We are not legally allowed to say that there will be consequences for your actions. If you do choose to do this, we recommend doing it in a way that is in and of itself, creative. Your content creation is not limited to writing, but can also be in other forms of media. We wish you the best of luck, and hope to see you make it to the other side.

On the bottom was signed the initials A.K. You're not sure what this means, perhaps with a bit more thought, it will become clear to you. Folding the paper, you place it in your pocket and walk down the hallway. At the end of the hallway is a door. You open the door and inside it is completely dark. You hesitate, then step inside. The door shuts behind you. The lights flicker and come on. You see that the room is simply decorated, with a desk, a chair and a couch with a pillow and a blanket. The door behind you appears to have a metal steering wheel on it that might unlock it, but there is no handle visible. You wrench at the wheel, but it won't budge. You are stuck. Surveying the room, you notice an ample supply of canned food and water bottles. Looking at the supplies, you believe it may be enough to survive a month. On the desk there is a laptop. Walking over, you see that a page is pulled up. You see the browser url is: afewbrilliantideas.blogspot.com/p/blog-challenge.html

Scanning down it, you see the following list of participants:

(Stevie) Ash Ketchum @

(Davina) Dot @

(Na'chelle) Rita @

(Ben) Spongebob @

(Simeon) Pinky @

(Erica) Carmen Sandiego @

(Haleigh) Dee Dee @

(Nathan) Nigel Thornberry @

(Nick) Johnny Bravo @

(Will) Patrick Star @

Some of them appear familiar to you, like you should know them, but your head still hurts. Others you've never seen before. You do recognize their nicknames though, they appear to be nineties cartoon characters. You look down at the bottom left of your screen. It's February first. You're not sure what will happen to you if you don't write a post. You urge your fingers to type, but with no success. The page remains blank except the words "best of luck." Sighing, you decide you'd best take a nap and lay on the couch. The world fades black.

Was there a meaning behind the particular names you picked?

Haha, not for yours. I was getting pretty desperate for female 90s characters.
